The Granger City Council met via an electronic meeting on March 25, 2021, at 6 p.m. due to Iowa Governor Kim Reynold’s updated Proclamation of Disaster Emergency of February 5, 2021, which among other matters, encouraged all vulnerable Iowans to limit their activities outside of their home including their participation in gatherings of any size and any purpose. Therefore, as permitted by Iowa Code Section 21.8, the City Council meeting was conducted by electronic means.
Mayor James opened the electronic Special City Council meeting at 6 p.m. Council members on the call/Zoom meeting were Backous, Saak, and Schutt. Bermel and Brandt were not present.
Backous made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Schutt. All Ayes.
Action on Resolution 2021-07 – authorizing the Redemption of Outstanding General Obligation Capital Loan Notes, Series 2010B, dated September 1, 2010, was approved by Schutt, seconded by Saak. All Ayes.
Action to approve Fraud Reporting Policy, Personally Identifiable Information and Protected Identifiable Information Requirements Applicable to all Federal Awards, and Procurement Addendum was approved by Schutt, seconded by Backous. All Ayes.
Mayor James mentioned that he and Chief Cox interviewed five applicants for the Police Officer position. He said he would write-up some information on all the applicants and send it to the City Council for review. Chief Cox will make his recommendation for hire for the City Council’s approval at the regular April meeting.
