Mayor Tony James opened the Special City Council Meeting at 6:00 p.m. at Granger Community Center, 2200 Walnut Street, Granger, Iowa.
Roll Call: Present: Bermel, Brandt, Saak, Schutt Not Present: Backous
Action to set Polk County TIF revenue request for the maximum for FY 2022-2023 was approved by Saak, seconded by Bermel. All Ayes. Action to approve Resolution 2021-32 – authorizing advancement of costs for the Oak Creek Urban Renewal Area and the certification of expenses incurred by the City for payment under Iowa Code Section 403.19 not to exceed $24,000 was approved by Bermel, seconded by Brandt. All Ayes. Action to set Dallas County TIF revenue request for the Ironwood Estates Area for the maximum for FY 2022-2023 was approved by Brandt, seconded by Saak. All Ayes. Action on Resolution 2021-28 – approving 2021 annual report to the State of Iowa (subject to changing the figures from above) was approved by Brandt, seconded by Saak. All Ayes.
The majority of the City Council was in favor of changing the day of the week from the 2nd Wednesday of the month to the 2nd Thursday for the regular City Council meetings starting January 2022. The City Attorney will amend the ordinance and present it at the December City Council meeting for possible approval.
