Granger Parks and Rec Board Meeting, Wednesday, September 16th, 2020
General Agenda Items:
Callto Order: Jeri Wendzel called to order at 7:34 pm
Roll Call: Present – Jeri Wendzel, Jennifer Kopp, Ryan Castro, Angela Parks, Erik Smith
Members of Public – Jennifer Harned (Parks and Rec Director), Brad Feick
Approval ofthe Agenda – Erick motions, Jenn 2nds. All ayes.
Approval of MarchMinutes: Angela motions, Ryan seconds. All ayes

Board Discussion Items:
Director Report:
I. Centennial Park Playground Update
A. The playground is currently closed and installation is planned for next week.
It could possibly be by October 1st depending on how long the concrete
takes.
II. Centennial Park Concession Stand
A. This project is on hold with the playground and the storm clean up.
III. Youth Volleyball began on September 13th
A. Masks are required for programming for spectators. Coaches and players
can take the mask off once they start playing the game. Once they leave the
building, they must put them back on when leaving the building
IV. Movie in the Park
A. August 22nd -Dough Crazy Food Truck had an attendance of 70 people
B. Halloween-Hocus Pocus-When would the Park Board be available?
1. Friday, October 2nd for Hocus Pocus Movie
a) At least 2-3 people are available.
2. The food truck was voted no
V. Beggars Night
A. Scheduled for Friday, October 30th, 6-8 pm
B. Jen may put out COVID guidance for parents, children, and citizens to
follow
1. If the Parks and Rec Board has any suggestions, let Jen know.
VI. Application/Interview Panel
A. Are dates there any dates available to schedule interviews for potential
candidates? Jen would like to have it on the October 14h City Council
agenda.
1. Erick Smith and Jeri Wendzel voted to help with interviews
VII. Programming for the remainder of 2020
A. TOT Basketball (indoors)
1. It will be in October or November
B. Basketball Clinic
C. Youth Basketball (Nov-Jan) Kindergarten (Feb)
D. Jen is not doing a full program guide with the uncertainty of COVID. She will
make flyers for programs once we know we are doing that program.
CCRA/Parks: Currently, out of our 2020/2021 fiscal budget, Parks is 13% spent, and the
Community Center is 22% spent.
Grants Update:
1. None
City Council
1. Jen will present the selected candidate for a Parks and Rec Assistant to City
Council.
